Pebbles, a Pit Bull terrier, was born in August of 2006 on the streets of South Phoenix. September 23, 2006 has become known as Pebbles’s lucky day: this was the day her mom, Christina, was volunteering for a Spay and Neuter Clinic; the same day the organization saved a six-week-old Pebbles and her siblings from a future in dog fighting. Although not looking for another dog at the time, Christina could not overlook Pebbles efforts at being noticed. While waiting for Pit Bull Rescue to show up, the AZ Fuzion team captain, Laurie, decided to do some testing with all the puppies to see if any of them had any ball or tug drive. Pebbles quickly revealed she had both, peaking both Laurie and Christina’s interest. To assure that she would remain the center of attention, Pebbles proceeded to follow Christina around, tugging at jeans, shoes, and laces – whatever it took to keep her interest. Unable to ignore this determined little puppy and convinced this must be a sign, Christina took Pebbles home with her that day, and Pebbles became the main character in yet another doggy rags-to-riches tale. Pebbles has been in training since the day she came home and is set to debut in early 2008. When not training for flyball, she enjoys playing with her brother Bullet, sister Isis, and roomie Diesel, and swimming with the other dogs in the pool at Team Captain Laurie’s house. We expect big things from Pebbles as she has proven to be faster than a speeding Bullet.
