Marley is an SBT/JRT mix. He was the last born of 5 pups and almost twice
the size of his littermates. He quickly showed us that his main objective
was to sleep, eat and sleep some more making it easy to name him after one
of our favorite artists, Bob Marley. His laid-back easy going demeanor made
that a clear choice for a name and it fit him to the T.
The other pups were full of energy and we knew they needed to do FB,
figuring Marley might not have the drive for the sport we decided to keep
him as our house pet that could stay at home with my husband when I went to
tournaments and maybe dabble in Obedience or therapy work.
As he got older we saw that he might be interested in FB so we started
training him. He became very ill at 6 months and was diagnosed with Valley
Fever and we stopped doing FB until he was a year old and the illness was
under control.
He ran his first successful race at over 2 years old and it was a long time
coming. Since then he has excelled in the sport of Weight Pulling and is
currently #18 in the Nations top 25 of all breeds and only 1 of 2 mixed
breeds in the top 25.
His recent endeavors include attending Elementary school assemblies with his
sister Bella and brother Tahoe to talk about the importance of spaying and
neutering your pets as a representative of Altered Tails, a mobile S/N
hospital for low income families in the valley
We are proud of Marley and know he will have a long career in FB and WP.
